“Spring” is the theme at the Indian River County Intergenerational Recreation Center,  1590 9th Street S.W. in Vero Beach – an exhibit by members of the Cultural Council.

Join Joe Gramm, The Movie Man, at 1:30 pm on Thursday, June 6 at the North Indian River County Library in Sebastian for Classic Films with a Twist. There will be a full-length screening of the hilarious 1978 French farce, “La Cage Aux Folles” (French language with English subtitles). Admission & refreshments are free. Discussion & Film Trivia Contest with prizes follow the movie.

The annual Backus Bingo luncheon will be held on Friday, June 7 from 11:30 am – 2:30 pm at the Pelican Yacht Club, 1120 Seaway Drive in Fort Pierce to benefit the Backus Museum & Gallery.   Reservations are $40 per person, with tables of 8 available.  Enjoy a exciting games, amazing prizes, a luncheon feast fit for man and beast, cash bar, with lots of fun and thrills for all. The afternoon’s celebrations will include five games of bingo plus a grand prize game. Live in the Loop:  Enjoy free outdoor concerts beginning at 6:00 pm with Southern Vine (An acoustic stringed mix of Folksy, Islandy, Country, lots of harmonies) on Friday and The String Assassins (An all string acoustic jam band with an upbeat collection of songs you know from Pink Floyd, The Grateful Dead and More!) on Saturday.


The Sunset Saturday Night Free Concert Series sponsored by the Oceanside Business Association presents Cinda & The Studio Guys performing  on Saturday June 8  from 6:30 to 9:30 pm.  The band performs hits from Fleetwood Mac to Pat Benetar to Train, Martina McBride and Heart, on Ocean Drive at Humiston Park.  Free.

The  Israel Scouts Friendship Caravan 2019 will perform at Temple Beth Shalom, 365 43rd Avenue in Vero Beach, at 7:00 pm on Saturday, June 8. The Friendship Caravan is a group of highly talented Israeli youth to perform an energetic and patriotic display of goodwill and friendship between countries. Performing songs in both Hebrew and English, the Scouts bring smiles to the faces of audiences of all ages, cultures and religions. In addition to their lively show, the Caravan members enjoy speaking with their American audiences about life in Israel and discussing what it is like to be an Israeli teenager. There will be a reception with light refreshments following the performance. Advance tickets are recommended and are available for $10 in the Temple office (772) 569-4700. General admission tickets will also be available at the door on the evening of the performance.



On Sunday, June 9 at 4 pm the First Presbyterian Church will offer an exciting concert in honor of Jacob Craig, Director of Music and Arts,  as he prepares to travel to England this summer to complete his Doctorate of Sacred Music with post-doc study at Oxford University. All are invited to participate in this one-of-a-kind concert. A love offering will be accepted in order to assist Jacob in defraying the costs of this special experience. Checks should be made out to First Presbyterian Church. Please indicate Sabbatical on the memo line to aid in processing.


Love the Arts?  Join other arts enthusiasts at the Cultural Council of Indian River County’s Art of Networking on Tuesday, June 11 from 5 to 7 pm at the Patio Seafood Tavern, 1103 21 Street in Vero Beach.  Network in a Happy Hour atmosphere with Cultural Council members and guests.  Enjoy free hors d’oeuvres and there will be a cash bar.  Member admission is free and guests are $5 each.  RSVP to 772-770-4857.
