Teen burglars apprehended

NEWS RELEASE

At approximately 3:39 AM, June 28, the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a burglary in progress in the 5000 block of 9th Place. Deputy Levenar observed a vehicle which she recognized as having been reported stolen earlier in the evening. The vehicle was reportedly taken by the owner’s grandson, Noah Lovett (14) of Vero Beach. As deputies approached the vehicle, two suspects fled on foot. Lovett was apprehended with the vehicle. Deputies established a perimeter, where it was determined the subjects jumped a fence entering the campus of Glendale Elementary School. Andres Rodriguez (15) and Tremaine Jackson (15) were apprehended in the 900 block of 48th Avenue after damaging the fence on private property while trying to again flee from law enforcement. Jackson admitted to deputies that the trio had been burglarizing vehicles in the area. At least six auto burglaries were confirmed.

Indian River County Sheriff Deryl Loar stated, “Our team did an outstanding job apprehending these teen burglars early this morning. By fleeing from law enforcement, they put themselves and the residents of this area in danger. We are happy to have them off the streets this morning.” Lovett was charged with grand theft auto, driving without a license, and six counts of auto burglary. Rodriguez and Jackson were both charged with six counts of auto burglary, burglary to the school, and resisting without violence. Additionally, Rodriguez was charged with violation of probation.
