The Kiwanis Club of Vero Beach will hold its annual golf tournament on Saturday, March 16 at The Club at Pointe West. Proceeds from this event will fund Kiwanis college scholarships as well as the construction of two pavilions at the Homeless Family Center in partnership with Lauren’s Way. A portion of the proceeds will also support the Indian River Golf Foundation’s Junior Program.
Kiwanis has been a fixture in our community since 1935 with a focus on children and charities that support them. They also sponsor Key Clubs at three area high schools. Lauren’s Way is the focus of 12-year old Lauren Weaver, who has received national attention for her efforts to help homeless families in the area. The Homeless Family Center provides shelter and educational help for families in need of housing as they try to re-enter the workforce and support themselves.
