On the other side, the New York Times ran a story this past Wednesday headlined, “Cities Weigh Taking Over from Private Utilities.” The Times article reported that across the country, cities are showing a renewed interest in taking over the electricity business from private utilities due to a desire for more local control of utility decisions to meet local needs.
