At today’s meeting of the Vero Beach City Council, City Manager Jim O’Connor and Finance Director Cindy Lawson will present their rational for a list of proposed spending cuts they believe will be necessary to help close a projected $2.2 million gap in the general fund budget. The funding gap will result from the sale of the city’s electric system. O’Connor and Lawson are looking for guidance on when to expect the electric system to be sold, and on what cuts will be acceptable to the Council and to the public. The special called meeting begins at 9:30. a.m.

The first place that the COVB “leaders” should cut is the large bills for transactional attorneys.
