Patisserie Vero Beach in downtown Vero Beach, FL, will be one of 56 bakeries participating in The Bread Bakers Guild of America’s 3rd Annual International Bakery Open House on June 29. Guild member bakeries in 30 US states and one Canadian province will take part in the open house, which was conceived as a way to bring communities to their bakeries, as well as to champion the cause for locally made bread.

The Patisserie’s Open House will be held at their bakery and café, 1910 Old Dixie Highway, at the corner of 19th Street and Old Dixie Highway, one block south of Rt. 60 East, from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 29th. Kitchen tours will be given at 9:30 and 12:30 and there will be ongoing bread tastings, flour samples, conversation, demonstrations and more throughout the day. The café will be open for breakfast and lunch, in addition to its coffee and espresso bar. The event is free and open to the public, but the bakery requests that you RSVP by June 22 – please contact Managing Partner, Christian Garcia, at Christian@PatisserieVB.com or via the Patisserie’s Facebook page, http://www.facebook.com/thePatisserie.

In conjunction with the Open House, Patisserie Vero Beach is offering the second in its series of workshops, a hand-mixed bread class, taught by Partner/Baker Chef Mark Edmonds, on Sunday, June 30, from 1 – 3 p.m. Guests may book the class in advance at the bakery, participation is limited: $45/person, $40 for Club Pain Premier members. It is a hands-on class, and guests will take home the breads they make. Chef Mark adds, “We are excited to be part of the real bread movement and thrilled to share our new space with our guests, Treasure Coast visitors and fellow bakers.”
