TCPalm.com’s letters to the editor not supportive of Carroll, Fletcher

Below is a link to the letters to the editor received by TCPalm.com addressing the issue of comments made by Mayor Craig Fletcher and Vice Mayor Tracy Carroll at the June 5 City Council meeting. Of the 14 letters published online by TCPalm.com, not one defended the Mayor and Vice Mayor for the actions.  Give that TCPalm.com clearly makes an effort to balance its publication of letters on controversial issues, it seems doubtful that the local daily newspaper receive even one letter supporting the Mayor and Vice Mayor on this issue.

  1. I think that this was a brilliant political move on the part of Mr. Katrovich,
and the mayor and vice mayor never saw it coming. Mr. Katrovich, along with his wife and many others have made it their mission to cast a cloud of suspicion on the motives of our three council members who
pushed for the FPL deal. I count myself among the suspicious.
Exposing the intolerance of these two council members, especially
Mrs. Carroll, who will presumably look to be re-elected and be named
mayor, changes the landscape of this years council race drastically.
I look forward to some clear thinking, tolerant younger people stepping
forward to lead this wonderful city into the future.
Having secured a deal with FPL, Mr. Fletcher should consider stepping down prior to the election and opening a one year seat for someone
more in touch with the modern world. As Bob Dylan said, “The times they are a changing.
