The new Women’s Care Center, serving Indian River County, has recently opened in Vero Beach. Please join them for their official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Wednesday August 14 from 5-6pm, which includes a small reception and tours of the new Center. Look for the bright pink sign on Rt. 60 at 1986 31st Ave, Suite 100, Vero Beach.
Women’s Care Center is devoted to helping women in our community experiencing an unexpected pregnancy by offering free and confidential support and assistance. Free pregnancy testing and Ultrasound confirmations are done on-site. One stop, one visit, to get the information you need quickly.
Women’s Care Center provides a welcoming, home-like, environment where a trained, caring staff provides on-going assistance of peer counseling, prenatal education, birth preparation, baby basics, parenting classes, adoption education and community referrals. The “learn and earn” incentive program provides an opportunity for expectant women to earn coupons for cribs, car seats, diapers, baby items and clothing selected from the Crib Club Boutique. This encourages participation in parenting/baby classes, prenatal care and self-sufficiency training. Through one-on-one peer counseling and class participation, each woman is provided with help and encouragement every step of the way, from staying in school to pursuing their dreams and goals.
Although new to Florida, Women’s Care Center started helping women in their local communities 29 years ago by a former Notre Dame professor in South Bend, Indiana. Today, the Women’s Care Center is the largest pregnancy resource center in America, serving more women in more locations than any other. Centers are located in Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin and Ohio. Vero Beach is the 22nd Women’s Care Center.
All services are free and confidential. Appointments are encouraged and walk-ins are welcome. For more information, call 772-257-5390, go to www.womenscarecenter.org/verobeach, or email womenscarecenterirc@gmail.com. 24-hour Helpline is available at 877-908-2341. Women’s Care Center is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization funded by private donations which are always welcomed.

All this sounds wonderful, but I see no mention of teaching women how to prevent unwanted pregnancies, or of preventive health care for women. How about including a little of that for the women in our community. Better to prevent unwanted, unplanned pregnancies than to treat theml.
These ‘pregnancy’ centers are simply a front for anti-choicers to draw in women and not give balanced information. Planned Parenthood is where one goes for the whole range of services, include men’s reproductive health and vasectomies.
