GRAVES CAMPAIGN PRESS RELEASE

Amelia Graves announced her Candidacy for Vero Beach City Council today. As a fifth generation resident of Vero Beach, Amelia possesses deep hometown pride in the community and respect for the legacy of the Vero Beach pioneer families. A graduate of the University of Florida, Amelia’s international work sharpened her perspective on the attributes of our city. Additionally, it provided an array of experience working with diverse coalitions to problem solve and instilled a foundation of community development.

“The citizens of Vero Beach are the City’s single greatest asset. The wide range of talent and ingenuity throughout our community is unparalleled and assures there is no problem too big to solve. It would be an honor and privilege to represent the residents of Vero Beach on City Council.”

Growing up on the water Amelia is keenly aware of the urgent action needed to protect our natural resources. “There is a reason people come from all over the world to enjoy our beaches and lagoon. The biodiversity of our estuary is like no other place on earth with its abundant wildlife. These resources are an essential economic driver of our community and a top priority in ensuring the continued growth of tourism and property values.”

During the upcoming weeks Amelia looks forward to hearing from the community on matters they deem important. “Through these dialogues we can all work together to create lasting solutions that preserve the heritage of Vero Beach, while simultaneously building a prosperous future on our foundation.”

Currently, Vero Beach faces a myriad of issues that will greatly impact our future, each requiring thoughtful and deliberate consideration. Vero needs public servants that listen with an open mind to all discussions. “As a Council member I promise to serve only in the best interest of the our City, push for greater transparency, encourage active citizen participation, and reflect the values of Vero Beach when planning our City’s budget.”
