SHERIFF’S OFFICE MEDIA RELEASE
Last night, August 24, 2013, at approximately 11:20 PM, three subjects were shot while attending a birthday party in the 900 block of 34th Avenue SW in south Indian River County.

Several other subjects who were in the company of the person previously displaying the handgun became upset that the party was ending. As the uninvited subjects were leaving, 3 to 4 shots were heard from the area of the front yard.
Three teenaged males who were attending the party were shot, ages 17, 18, and 19. All three were taken to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center in Ft. Pierce. The injuries to the two adults were listed as non-life hreatening. The 17 year old was listed as stable this morning after surgery. The party was to celebrate the birthday of the 17 year old and it was his mother who was the homeowner and host.
