More prominent, leading real estate brokers oppose short-term rental

Two of Vero Beach’s leading real estate brokers, Matilde and Dale Sorensen, wrote Mayor Craig Fletcher and Councilwoman PIlar Turner yesterday, urging them to vote to appeal a 3-2 decision of the Code Enforcement Board that could open the way to unrestricted short-term rentals.

Councilman Jay Kramer has requested the issue be discussed at next Tuesday evening’s City Council meeting

  1. This is good news. Dale and Matile Sorenson cleatly understand the negative impact that will be affected throughout Indian River County if private individuals can lease their proprty on a daily or weekly basis.

  2. If there are enough homes that were rentals in a neighborhood that are tuned into weekly hotels, this will affect the price of homes in the area. Who wants to live in a neighborhood where your neighbors are changing weekly?
