Detectives identify suspect and issue arrest warrants in triple shooting.

Investigators with the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office have active arrest warrants for Jarvis Demetrius Gaskin (23) for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, 3 counts of attempted second degree murder, discharging a firearm causing great bodily harm, and shooting a deadly missile.
Witnesses identified Gaskin as the subject who shot at three teens while at a 17 year old’s birthday party in the 900 block of 34th Avenue SW last Saturday night, August 24, 2013. Gaskin was reportedly seen dancing with a gun in his hand by the host of the party. When all guests were asked to leave, Gaskin became angry and shot into the house, striking three teens. Two of the youths, 18 and 19 years of age, suffered superficial wounds and were treated and released from Lawnwood Regional Medical Center. The third victim, 17 years old, was initially in serious condition after surgery last Sunday but is now listed as stable and communicating with detectives.
Gaskin is a black male, 23 years old, 5-9, 185lbs, brown eyes, black hair and has a last known address in the 2100 block of N. 43rd Street in Fort Pierce, Florida.
Gaskin is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information about this crime or his whereabouts is asked to contact Detective Scott Prouty at 772-978-6104.
