George T. Council Jr., 78, died September 9, 2013 at Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach. Mr. Council was born in Americus, GA and lived in Vero Beach for 52 years coming from Dade City, FL. He was a graduate of Florida State University, Tallahassee, FL. Mr. Council was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps serving during the Korean War. He was an Agriculture Researcher and worked for Vero Beach Laboratories (Bayer Co.) Chem-Agro and the Roche Company.Survivors include wife of 56 years, Charlotte Council of Vero Beach; sons, Thomas F. Council (Nadine) and Timothy A. Council both of Vero Beach; daughter, Lee Ann Hamilton (Lamar) of Vero Beach; brother, John Rainey Council of Dade City, FL; sister, Mary Ida Covington of Dade City, FL; granddaughters, Jennifer Council Crespo (Ronaldo) of Jacksonville, FL, Shawn Council, Lindsey Council and Emily Hamilton all of Vero Beach; great-granddaughters, Ariana Rose Crespo of Jacksonville, FL and Sophia Lynn Bello of Vero Beach and great-grandson, Jonathan Thomas Hamilton of Vero Beach. Mr. Council was preceded in death by his sisters, Sarah Hardin and Ann Council.Memorial contributions may be made to The Cats Meow Rescue Center 126 43rd Avenue, Vero Beach, FL 32968 in memory of Mr. Council. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, September 12, 2013 at Strunk Funeral Home, Vero Beach. A Funeral Service will be held at 7:00 PM, Thursday, September 12, 2013 at Strunk Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Ball officiating. Ernest John Ghezzi, 90, of Vero Beach, FL died Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at the VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach.   Ernie was born in New York City and moved to Vero Beach in 2007 from Boynton Beach, FL.   He retired from Con-Ed in New York, working as a welder. Ernie was a member of St. John of the Cross Catholic Church and the Elks Lodge in Vero Beach.   Ernie thoroughly enjoyed his time traveling world-wide and his days on the golf course.   Survivors include his wife of 62 years Elvia S. Ghezzi, nephew Jerry Catuzzi and his wife Chantal of Delray Beach, FL, sister Victoria Carlisi of Port Saint Lucie, FL, dear friends Oscar Perego of Milan, Italy and Sandra Molozzi of Pompano Beach, FL, and his beloved buddy “Bella”.   SERVICES: The family will receive friends 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM Thursday, September 12, 2013 at the Strunk Funeral Home in Vero Beach.
