The Center for Spiritual Care has a new artist in their gallery. Ginny Piech Street will show from Oct. 4th to the end of the year. The Artist reception is set for Oct 4th from 5:30-7:30 at the Center’s location at 1550 24th Street in Historic Downtown Vero Beach and becomes an extension of the First Friday Gallery Stroll. Ginny Piech Street’s artist statement reads,
“I love collage because it’s rich in process and full of the unpredictable.” -Ginny

I grew up in Indiana and earned a BFA at Murray State University in Kentucky. From there I lived in the South Carolina Low Country and tropical, festive Key West. Each of these places has influenced my art perspective.
This is what I believe about art. There are no mistakes. There are no rules. And the process of creating art is what really matters.
Color is important; black and white is dramatic.
This perspective is reflected in my whimsical, imaginative collages and sculptures. My reoccurring characters, often with funny and quirky titles, allow your thoughts to create their own story. While they are sometimes surprising and always colorful, their purpose is to make you smile.
Recently I’ve become more involved in the clay medium. I’m excited as well as curious to discover where the clay will lead me and how my imagery will emerge. Regardless, I know the jorney will be fun.
