Robert A. Flinn, 88, of Vero Beach, Florida died Monday, October 1, 2013 at his home. Bob was born in Westfield, New Jersey and moved to Vero Beach 42 years ago from Martinsville, New Jersey. He was a veteran of WW II, serving in the US Navy aboard the aircraft carrier USS Bennington. Bob was the recipient of three battle stars for his involvement in various naval battles including Iwo Jima, Okinawa and Japan.
Bob, along with his brother Richard, had owned Flinn Real Estate prior to his retirement. Survivors include his daughters Jane C. Flinn, Frances Flinn Cappelen and her husband Rusty and Gail E. Flinn all of Vero Beach, grandsons Rusty, Ryan and Stevie, great-grandchildren Charlie and Cash Cappelen. He was preceded in death by his wife Frances Flinn, and brothers Richard and Alfred. Memorial contributions may be made to VNA/Hospice Foundation, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, Florida 32960  SERVICES: A Life Celebration Service for Bob will begin at 2 PM, Friday, October 4, 2013 at the Strunk Funeral Home in Vero Beach with Rev.
