Game Stop robbery suspect arrested

SHERIFF’S OFFICE MEDIA RELEASE

Indian River County Sheriff’s Office Investigators identified 34 year old Glenn Carvajal as the suspect in the armed robbery of the Game Stop in Vero Beach last week.  This identification was made after several tips were called in to the Sheriff’s Office as well as Treasure Coast Crime Stoppers.  Photos of the suspect taken from the store’s surveillance camera were distributed to the media and on the Facebook page of the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office.  Within hours of the photos being released, tips began to come in identifying Carvajal as the possible suspect.

Investigators followed other leads and obtained an arrest warrant for Carvajal late yesterday afternoon. He turned himself in at the Vero Beach Police Department this morning but did not speak to investigators about the robbery.

At the time of this media release, he is in the process of being booked into the Indian River County Jail for one count of robbery with a deadly weapon and two counts of grand theft. He will be held on $550,000 bond.

Indian River County Sheriff’s Office detectives are working with investigators from Melbourne and the West Palm Beach area to determine if Carvajal is connected to similar robberies at Game Stops in those locations.

Carvajal’s booking photo will be available on our Website when the booking process is complete. The address on his driver’s license is in Vero Beach but it is believed he may have been homeless and living in his car in Brevard County at the time of the robbery.
