Carroll campaign running code enforcement ragged

Carroll Signs Monday 7

MARK SCHUMANN

As quickly as the code enforcement officers remove campaign signs illegally placed in public right of way, the Carroll campaign manages to deploy replacement signs.  A light bulb should go off in voters minds to witness the Carroll campaign’s flagrant disregard for the City’s sign ordinance, especially considering that Carroll had a hand in drafting the existing regulations.

Perhaps it was her campaign’s sign placement strategy which motivated Carroll to refuse to put her name to a recent proclamation in recognition of National Code Enforcement Month.  This will not be the first city ordinance Carroll has chosen to ignore.

  1. I saw a rather unique campaign sign this afternoon. It said, “Anybody but Carroll.”

  2. Sec. 38.18. Removal of prohibited signs from public property or public rights-of-way.permanent link to this piece of content

Any prohibited sign on public property or public rights-of-way may be immediately removed by a code enforcement officer or other authorized city official. Any sign so removed may be disposed of without notice or compensation. In addition to other remedies, the city shall have the right to recover from the owner or person placing such sign the cost of removal and/or disposal.

There is certainly nothing misleading or vague about this city ordinance. This blatant violation of the law is consistent with the attitude that makes Ms. Carroll and her most vocal supporters so despicable. Hasn’t one of her most vocal supporters had a bit of a problem following election laws in the past?

People without ethics don’t play by the rules and the absence of a conscience makes them say; “I don’t care”.

  3. The arrogance of Tracy Carroll is unparalled in the history of Vero Beach. What gall to even attempt to give away public land( the dog park) to a private group. Putting her campaign signs anywhere she wants is just one more example of her distain for all of us.
