Community News: Hibiscus Children’s Center “Walk on the Wild Side” gala set for Dec. 7

Hibiscus Children's Center LogoThis year’s Winter Gala, a fundraiser for Hibiscus Children’s Center, will be a not-to-be-missed affair. Please join us at 6:30P on Saturday, December 7, 2013, at the Moorings Club. This black tie event is a highlight of the season and this year promises to be fun and exciting as the theme, “Walk on the Wild Side”, suggests the mystery of Africa.  Guests will be amazed at the transformation of The Moorings Club into an African atmosphere of jungle, music, and “wild” animals. The co-chairs, Carole Casey, Linda Teetz and Ro Smith, are planning many surprises for the evening.

Guests will be invited to enjoy the cocktail reception while perusing hundreds of silent auction items.  A spirited live auction will follow at dinner, highlighted by the opportunity to win a dazzling 18K gold necklace with flawless, colorless and perfectly cut diamonds, valued at $33,500 (with a reserve bid of $14,000).  Please visit http://www.bidpal.net/hibiscus to bid safely and easily online on all the great live and silent auction items.  Check back often as we will regularly update the site and please don’t hesitate to contact us for assistance.

The festivities continue as you will be beckoned out of your seat and onto the dance floor by the exciting sounds of “Private Stock”.  This elegant evening promises to be a spectacular and memorable affair.

Many thanks to our generous event sponsors: George E. Warren Corp.; Premier Underwriters:  Marie & Armund Ek and Helen Taylor Robertson; and Premier Sponsors:   Mrs. Herman F. Becker, Linda & Mel Teetz, Mrs. A. F. Langhorne, George Fetterolf & Elke Brockway, Elke’s Antiques and Decor, Jean & Jim Kelly, Tina & Calvin Tyler and The UPS Foundation.
