PRESS RELEASE

Republican Women Aware (RWA) and Indian River County Designers are putting finishing touches on this year’s premier event signaling the opening of the holiday season in Indian River County.

CHRISTMAS HOUSE 2013, a designer showcase featuring a elaborately holiday decorated mansion in St. Andrews Island in Grand Harbor opens Saturday, December 7 and continues through Sunday, December 8.

All proceeds from the event will go to eight Indian River County charities:  Boys and Girls Club, Camp Haven, CASTLE, Hibiscus Children’s Center, Senior Resource Association, Sun Up ARC, Women’s Refuge of Vero Beach and Youth Sailing Foundation.

Tickets are $25 each to the even and may be purchased prior to the event at any of the charities or at Republican Headquarters on US 1 by Miracle Mile.

A premier VIP Kickoff Friday, December 6 where invited guests will preview the mansion before it is open to the public.

Carolers from SunUp ARC and area schools will sing Christmas Carols as guests enter the beautiful holiday house.

Punch will be served from a “Celebrity Punch Bowl”, chaired by Indian River County Tax Collector Carol Jean Jordan and Vero Beach Councilwoman Pilar Turner.

The public is invited to come out and help local charities who are preparing to support local families and children during the holiday season.

Donations may be made direct to any of the charities or to RWA specifying Christmas House Donation.

In years past RWA decorated a local mansion that was already furnished with holiday decorations.  This year the well known group has accepted the challenge of showcasing a mansion that was unfurnished until local designers and businesses furnished it entirely for the holidays – from even the smallest accessory to fabulous furnishings and art work.

Nestled in a private enclave along the river at Grand Harbor in St. Andrews Island, the interior spaces and exterior grounds of this stately home is being transformed by local designers, decorators, florists, artists and landscapers into a magical wonderland of elegance.

Originality, creative vision and charm are words to describe the home which was donated by Kurt and Marilyn Wallach for this exclusive event.  Many of the decorating elements, art and botanicals will be available for the public to purchase.

Local businesses participating include:  J Price Designs, Waldo’s Garden, Elegance By The Sea, Snows Interiors, Michael’s, Monti’s Flower Market, Artist Guild Gallery, Eyes for Light, Ray McClendon’s Highwayman, Decorative Arts, House of Charm, Minakshi De, Petrilla Designs, Landscape Concepts, Coulter Designs.

Tickets and additional information is now available by calling 772-418-2180 or 772-584-2102 or emailing: cdebishop@bellsouth.net.
