Robert A. Macgowan, 76, died peacefully in his home in Vero Beach on Friday, December 20, 2013. He was born in Paterson, New Jersey, on September 18, 1937 and lived in Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and New York. He moved to Vero Beach from New York with his wife Diane in 1996. Bob was employed as an airline mechanic with Pan American Airways and also ran his own business until his retirement in 1996. Bob started the Soup Kitchen in the Salvation Army in Vero Beach in 1999 and was also a member of the Salvation Army Advisory Board. He was a member of the Vero Masonic Lodge F&AM where he served as Chaplin for several years. He was a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity and served on the board of the Scottish Society of the Treasure Coast.  Bob was a member of St Paul’s Church and a former member of Christ Church, Trinity Church and Westminster Presbyterian Church all in Vero Beach. He is survived by his wife Diane of Vero Beach, as well as three daughters, Debra Gianlombardo and husband Frank of Mastic, NY; Ann Thomas and husband Donald of Patchogue, NY and Andrea Nevard and husband Mark of Leominster, Mass; he is survived by seven grandchildren, John and Lori Gianlombardo, Madison and Ashley Thomas and Chiara, Nico and Isabella Nevard; sister, Susan MacCallum and husband John of Charleston, WV. He was predeceased by his brother Thomas Macgowan III. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 11 AM at Christ by the Sea, United Methodist Church on A1A,followed by a reception in the fellowship hall.. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Salvation Army Vero Beach Corps, Soup Kitchen, 2655 5th St. SW, Vero Beach, FL 32962 or the VNA Hospice of Indian River County, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960.  http://www.lowtherfuneralhome.com/ (12/24/13)

Dawn H. Paulson, of Vero Beach, Florida, passed on Sunday, December 22, 2013 at VNA Hospice House. She was born in Wisconsin and had lived in Vero Beach since 1957, coming from her birthplace. Mrs. Paulson is survived by her husband of 59 years, Fred Paulson; daughter, Sharon Flinchum of Ft. Anna R. Perrino, 83, died Sunday, December 22, 2013 at her home in Vero Beach. Anna was born was born in Providence, Rhode Island and moved to Vero Beach in 2011 from Cranston, Rhode Island. She attended Holy Cross Catholic Church in Vero Beach and was heavily involved as a volunteer at the Fruit Hill Adult Day Service For Elderly in North Providence, Rhode Island. Survivors include son Robert James Perrino, and his wife Susanne of Micco, Florida, daughter Darlene M. Perrino of Pawtucket, Rhode Island, grandchildren Robert J. Perrino, Jr. and Elizabeth A. Perrino, and a brother Albert Baccari of Cranston. She was preceded in death by her husband Giovanni Perrino, brothers Harry, Ido, Philip, Salvatore, Frank and Joseph “Buffy” Baccari, sisters Emily Macaruso, Jenny DeStefano, Rose Marfeo, Adeline Conti, Sarah Nazarian and Angelina Marfeo. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Chrildrens Research Hospital, PO Box 1000 Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908 . Anna will be transferred to Rhode Island where interment will take place at Saint Anne’s Cemetery in Cranston. A Mass will be celebrated at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Vero Beach at a later date. www.strunkfuneralhome.com.
