The Vero Beach Theatre Guild’s presentation of the classic, Harvey, written by Pulitzer Prize winning, Mary Chase, kicks off on January 16. Award winning actor, professor, author and director, George Carabin directs a cast of eleven in this comedy play set in the 1940’s.
With a revolving stage set and costumes that transport you back in time 70 years, the story opens in the home of the main characters, Veta Louise Simmons and Elwood P. Dowd. Elwood, an amiable, carefree dreamer played by Bill Lembeck, arrives unexpectedly at his sister Veta’s society party with his invisible, make-believe friend, a six foot three inch white rabbit named Harvey. Lembeck is an award winning actor for leading roles at other theatres and is the Vero Beach Theatre Guild Director who proposed bringing Harvey to the stage this season. More…
