Little League baseball in Vero Beach has shut down and both leagues (American and National) will come together under Babe Ruth/Cal Ripken League. What that means for area baseball players is that they will have one, larger league to play in and will finally be able to play with all of their classmates. This move to a different league was brought on by Little League corporate not allowing Vero Beach to combine its leagues, the City of Vero making it unaffordable, and the game of youth baseball evolving. Other than the history and nostalgia of Little League in this area, Babe Ruth/Cal Ripken League is a better brand of baseball and better fit for our county.
