Estrada,NoelNoel Enrique Estrada, 77, of Vero Beach, passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at VNA Hospice House.  He was born November 2,1936 in San Juan, Puerto Rico and had been a resident of Vero Beach for 43 years, coming from Hackensack, NJ. Mr. Estrada was a veteran of the United States Army. He had worked as a mechanic in the automotive industry. He is survived by wife of 47 years, Maria Estrada of Vero Beach; children, Noel Estrada, Jr. and Madelin Estrada both of Puerto Rico; Anthony Estrada of Vero Beach, Angela Estrada Rosart and Daniel Estrada both of Vero Beach; grandchildren: Vincent, Ernesto, Hector, Stephanie and William Estrada and Justin and Gavin Rosart . Edward J. Fennell, 77, of Vero Beach, died Sunday, January 12, 2014 at Orlando Regional Medical Center, Orlando, FL. He was born May 18, 1936 in Boston, Massachusetts and had been a resident of Vero Beach since 2001 coming from Somerville, MA;
Mr. Fennell was a veteran of the US Army and he worked as a Milkman for 40 years with the H.P. Hood Milk Company. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Jeanne Fennell of Vero Beach; son, Michael J. Fennell of Saugus, MA; daughter, Maureen Roche of Satellite Beach, FL; brother, William F. Fennell of Winthrop, MA and 4 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister Helen Curry. At the request of the family services will be private. LongJohn R. “Dick” Long, 77, of Vero Beach, died Saturday, January 11, 2014. Dick was born September 8, 1936 in Dixon, IL. Dick farmed many years in Polo, IL and prior to his retirement, he worked with Forsyth County Parks and Recreation in Cumming, GA. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Polo, IL and The Church of the Good Shepherd in Cumming, GA. Dick married Karen Adams on April 4, 1959 in Sterling, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother. He is survived by his wife, Karen; daughter, Veronica Spellman of Cumming, GA; sons, Rick (Sandy) Long of So. Beloit, IL and Timothy (Debi) Long of Chetek, WI; 2 sisters; 5 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren and his special lapdog, Benny. Dick was a Nascar fan, in particular #48 Jimmie Johnson and he also collected anything John Deere. He enjoyed life, was an unselfish person, and personified the virtues of faith in God. A celebration of Dick’s life will be held at a later date at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Polo, IL. Arrangements are under the direction of Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home & Crematory, Vero Beach. Patota, ReginaldReginald Patota died Tuesday, January 7, 2014, at Indian River Medical Center, due to complications of metastatic melanoma. He had made his home in Vero Beach for the last 20 years. He was born on November 22, 1925 in Fall River, Massachusetts. He served in the United States Navy from 1943 to 1946. After his service, he attended Bryant College and later Brown University, where he received a degree in English Literature and Expression. Reg was an account group supervisor for the advertising agency Batten Barton Durstine and Osborne in New York and Boston. Later he worked for Curtis Publishing /Saturday Evening Post, for Diners Club/Signature Magazine and was advertising manager for CVS. For a number of years he managed family-owned businesses and real estate in Fall River. An avid boater, he and his wife spent the last 10 summers off coastal New England on his trawler Patriot. He also enjoyed playing tennis and spending time with his beloved English Cocker Spaniel Samantha. Survivors include his wife of 45 years Joan (Pinevia) Patota; step sons Gifford (Christine) Plume, Geoffrey (Lisa) Plume, Michael (Judy) Plume; grandchildren Gifford, Jameson, Jennifer, and Juliette; two step granddaughters; two step grandsons; nine nieces and nephews and their children.  He was predeceased by his father, Peter Patota; mother, Helen Patota; and brother, David Patota. Private services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to The Humane Society of Vero Beach & Indian River County, PO Box 644, Vero Beach, FL 32961.  http://www.lowtherfuneralhome.com  (1/14/14)
