Sheriff’s office launches redesigned website

IRC Sheriff's Office LogoAccording to Indian River County Sheriff’s Office public information officer, Thomas Raulen, the department’s redesigned website has been well received by the public.  One week after the launch of the new site, Raulen says the feedback has been almost all positive.

Some of the site’s most popular features, such as booking photos, warrant information, and public records searches, are now available in one convenient location near the top right of the page. The public records section contains the arrest affidavits from the previous day (or days if a weekend or holiday). Raulen said this has been a popular source of information for members of the media as it has alleviated the need to review affidavits in person at our station.  The site also now enables people to file a police report online by following step-by-step instructions.

Raulen said the  Sheriff’s Office website is now also better integrated with social media.  The “Top Story” section of our new Web site is a direct feed from our Facebook page, www.facebook.com/ircsheriff. Feeds from our agency’s two Twitter accounts are also featured on the front page of our new site. Twitter handle @IRCSheriff is the account for most of our agency’s Tweets while @IRCSPOT keeps followers up to date with information about registered sex offenders in our county.

“This is the initial launch and we are still working on enhancing aspects of our Web page which we hope will make the use of our site a smooth process for members of the media and the public,” Raulen said is a prepared statement announcing the launch of the new website.
