NEWS RELEASE

“Casting Our Future,” the Capital Campaign for the East Wing Expansion Project of the Vero Beach Theatre Guild’s building, is in full swing following the final site plan conditional use approval made by the City of Vero Beach.

The $1,000,000 campaign is to be used towards the much needed, behind-the-scenes renovations to improve the working conditions for volunteer cast and crew.  Those improvements include an on-site second floor rehearsal space allowing room for sets and props, even while another show is using the main stage; on-site third floor storage space for costumes and props saving time and money in rental facilities; first floor permanent male dressing room to adjoin a female dressing room. The green rooftop will house a garden terrace for volunteers to enjoy while taking a break.

Mark Wygonik, President of the Board of Directors, shares that the East Wing expansion project will benefit everyone. “Allowing our volunteers a better facility to participate in will attract and retain quality volunteers onstage, backstage and front-of-house. By attracting better talent, we will produce better productions…it just all makes sense.”

The Theatre Guild has produced a menu of donor options, from naming opportunities to recognition plaques and cash donation. Pledges for all levels of support may be paid as a one-time gift or in monthly installments and are fully tax deductible.

Wygonik adds, “All of this allows our donors an opportunity to help the Theatre Guild maintain its creative leadership in the county and will continue to be a source of pride that enhances Indian River County’s cultural heritage as a vibrant arts community.”

For more information on the expansion project as well as donor pledges, call 772-562-8300 or visit the box office at: 2020 San Juan Avenue, in Vero Beach.  Donations are also available online at verobeachtheatreguild.com.  The Vero Beach Theatre Guild is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization.

  1. This is a definite win-win for our community. It is so fitting that a local theater company would ensure that the local businesses are hired to meet the needs of the local community..
