The previously reported gas leak has been secured. No further delays are expected. The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office has cleared the scene but will continue to monitor the situation throughout the day. Indian River County Fire Rescue remains on scene.

The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office is currently on scene in the 1200 block of US Highway 1 to assist with a gas leak. A construction crew working near the Carrabbas restaurant struck a gas line causing the leak. The Publix shopping plaza parking lot is currently being evacuated.

Travelers and patrons are asked to avoid that area this morning as the leak may cause delays. Updates will be released as they are available.
