Accompanied by a letter from Charlie Wilson thanking them for becoming a “Founding Member” of a new chamber of commerce, many local business owners have been receiving an invoice from Wilson’s new chamber for membership dues. At least a few of these businesses owners have contacted Inside Vero raising questions about the new chamber’s practice of sending out invoices as a form of solicitation. Others have called the Indian River County Chamber of Commerce expressing confusion and even anger, according to Penny Chandler, president of the chamber.
“This is like receiving one of those bogus invoices for Yellow Pages advertising,” said one local professional, who called Inside Vero after receiving an invoice from the new chamber.
Not clear that the invoices are issued by a group trying to start a new chamber of commerce, a number of members of the Indian River County Chamber of Commerce at first thought they had been double billed.
Local business owners and their bookkeepers should be aware that the invoices they are receiving are, in fact, nothing more than a solicitation.

The citizens of Vero Beach should have learned from the experience of Charlie Wilson lying about his residency in order to be on the Vero Beach City Council. Liars tend to repeat the same pattern of behavior.
Considering who is at the helm of this organization, can you expect anything less than outright deception?
I’m be contacting the Better Business Bureau – and maybe some other agencies about Mr. Wilson and his shiny new Chamber of Commerce. His lack of business scruples is evident.
