Is new “chamber” really thinking Vero first?

Charlie Wilson, president of the new Vero Beach Chamber of Commerce, has made loud protestations about how his organization will be committed to furthering and promoting the interests of Vero Beach businesses.  Yet, when it came to selecting a company to handle his solicitation letters, which include invoices, the new “Think Vero First” chamber chose to do business with Address N’ Mail, a Melbourne company.

The new chamber’s solicitation letters were mailed from Melbourne, under a bulk mail permit owned by Address N’ Mail of Melbourne.  At least one local printer, Ironside Press in downtown Vero Beach, does the kind of mail-merge mailings Wilson’s new chamber paid an out-of-town company to handle.

Wilson could not be reached this morning for comment.

  1. Poor Charlie — He seems unable to practice what he preaches. “Vero First” is obviously nothing more than a marketing gimmick.

  2. Charlie Wilson speaks with a forked tongue. Yes, Pat Lavins has probably hit it on the head – marketing gimmick!

  3. His attempts to be a good business man never ceases to amaze me.

As I recall, he sued the Art Museum for a commission and won. Word has is that the Art Musuem did not feel it was worth the fight so they paid him rather than fight him. My only question on that deal is, Did he pay Tim Zorc for his share of that scam.
