On February 13, 2014, Detectives with the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office Multi-Agency Criminal Enforcement (M.A.C.E.) Unit and Agents from the United Stated Department of Justice Drug Enforcement Administration (D.E.A.) executed a search warrant in the 1400 block of 39th Avenue in Vero Beach related to a methamphetamine manufacturing operation.
On Friday, February 14th, charges of manufacturing methamphetamine and possession of methamphetamine were added to Vero Beach resident Shane Lavery, who had already been booked on charges of robbery, burglary with battery, and grand theft. Lavery is now being held on more than $500,000 bond.
On Thursday, February 20th, Daniella Morlanne (47) of Vero Beach, was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine. She is currently being held on $35,000 bond.
Detective Chris Vasquez of the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office M.A.C.E. Unit described the manufacture process as a “one-pot” style lab. Two reaction vessels were recovered, along with a gas generator and approximately three (3) grams of methamphetamine believed to be manufactured in the home.
Indian River County Sheriff Deryl Loar stated, “We are proud of the work of our M.A.C.E. Unit and our partners at the D.E.A. This dangerous situation has resulted in the arrest of two subjects that are now safely behind bars.”
