The body of Thomas Hoffman, 60, missing since Feb. 5, was found yesterday in a wooded area near the Publix store on 58th Avenue and State Road 60. According to Sheriff’s Office spokesman Sgt. Eric Flowers, Hoffman’s body was found in the clothes he was wearing when he went missing. A wallet with cash in it was also found.
According to a Sheriff’s Office new release issues in late February, two days after Hoffman went missing his ATM card was used at a bank near where his body was found yesterday. Still, no foul play is suspected, Flowers said.

Thomas Hoffman, 60, of Vero Beach, was last seen on February 5, 2014, when his father dropped him off at a hotel in the 1700 block of US 1. Detectives confirmed that Hoffman paid for a night at the hotel, but he has not been seen since.
On February 7th, Hoffman’s ATM card was used at a bank in the 2000 block of 58th Avenue. The attached photograph shows the ATM transaction, however the man in the photographs are not Hoffman. Detectives are asking for the public’s help to identify the man in the photographs. Hoffman has a history of mental illness and drug use.
Indian River County Sheriff Deryl Loar stated, “We are concerned about Mr. Hoffman and want to make sure he is okay. Someone knows the man in these photos and the location of Mr. Hoffman. Help us find Mr. Hoffman for his family.”
