WILLIAM CHARLES JANSEN, 74, passed away Monday, March 24, 2014 at Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach. Bill was born in Saginaw, Michigan and moved to Vero Beach in 1984 from Turner, Michigan.
Bill served in the US Navy for twenty-three years, retiring as a Chief Petty Officer, and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He served aboard SWIFT boats in Vietnam, and also served aboard the USS Macandlas, of which he is a plank owner, and the USS Papago. Upon retiring from the US Navy he went to work for AR Utilities as an underground installer. In recent years he had been calling BINGO at St. John of the Cross BINGO nights.
Survivors include his wife Adeline Joyce Jansen of Vero Beach, daughters Robin (Randy) Doyle of Clio, Michigan, Teresa Jansen of Farwell, Michigan and Lou Ellen (Grant) Maynard of Farwell, Michigan, sons Jeff (Lisa) Jansen of Farwell, Michigan, Johnny (Patty) Jansen of Farwell, Michigan, William (Tammy) Jansen, Jr. of Farwell, Michigan and Warren Jansen of Farwell, Michigan, stepsons Joseph (Maryann) McCurdy of Vero Beach and Benjamin (Holly) McCurdy of Burch Tree, Missouri, stepdaughters Janette (Pat) Provost of Ellsworth, Michigan, Ann Marie Vincent of Houghton Lake, Michigan, Patricia (Craig) Berry of Sterling, Michigan and Virginia (Chris) Henson of Nampa, Idaho, brother Newell Jansen of Hale, Michigan, twenty-eight grandchildren, and twenty-two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Cornelius and Ruth Jansen, and his sisters Mary, Johanna, Joyce, and Maxine.

LT. COL. RUBEN D. QUINONES, 74, of Vero Beach, FL passed away Monday, March 24, 2014 at the Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach. Ruben was born in Lajas, Puerto Rico moved to Vero Beach in 2006 from Pembroke Pines, FL. He was a graduate of the University of Puerto Rico at Mayaguez and a member of St. Helen Catholic Church in Vero Beach. Lt. Col. Quiñones retired from the US Army after 22 years of service. A veteran of the Vietnam War, he received the Bronze Star with Three Oak Leaf Clusters, National Defense Service Metal, Army Service Ribbon, Vietnam Campaign Ribbon and Vietnam Service Metal. Upon retiring from the US Army Lt. Col. Quiñones went to work for the FAA where he served as the Division Manager for Civil Aviation Security and as the Senior Representative for Latin America and the Carribean, retiring after 20 years of service.
Survivors include wife Esther G. Quiñones of Vero Beach, daughters Yolanda M. Rodriguez of Orlando, Muriel E. Plemons of the Dallas/Fort Worth Area, Texas and Veronica T. Quiñones of Miami, and son Ruben F. Quiñones of Sanford, and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.

SERVICES: The family will receive friends 5-7 PM, Wednesday, March 26 at the Strunk Funeral Home in Vero Beach with a prayer service at 6:30 PM. Mass will be celebrated 10 AM, Thursday, March 27 at St. Helen Catholic Church in Vero Beach.
