In the early morning hours of March 25th, detectives with the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office prepared to execute a search warrant in the 1200 block of 23rd Street SW in Vero Beach. Information obtained prior to the search warrant led detectives to believe that a resident was engaged in the trade of child pornography.
After a thorough search and investigation, detectives identified and arrested Christopher Bresemen (28) of Vero Beach on twenty one counts of possession of child pornography. Bresemen admitted to detectives that he had used a laptop that was seized during the search to download pornography of persons under the age of twelve years old. Bresemen could not say how many movies depicting persons under the age of twelve years old engaged in sexual activity he had downloaded, but did admit that it was, “a lot.”
Detectives were able to immediately identify twenty one videos containing explicit content with young children. Breseman was booked into the Indian River County Jail where is currently being held on a bond of $105,000.00 (booking photo available at http://www.ircsheriff.org). Detectives completed the search of the home and seized the laptop computer used for the illegal activity. Forensic examination of the computer continues with more charges expected when the examination is complete.
Sheriff Deryl Loar stated, “We will not tolerate child pornographers in Indian River County. Detective Shepherd continues to work closely with other state and federal agencies to eradicate these subjects from our community. It is vital to our mission to protect the most vulnerable of our citizens, the children.
