Keep in mind it was Glenn Heran CPA that flat out misrepresented the financials to the City Council on his rate sufficiency test in March of 2011, do you ever wonder why he does not do spreadsheets anymore? He purposely diminished the financial position of the City to encourage the City Council to sell to the County for debt only. Further, he gave the same presentation to Indian River Shores possibly interfering in contractual negotiations with the Shores. I am tired of the City of Vero Beach residents being treated like second class citizens in their own town!! – Jay Kramer

The morning cashier at McDonalds is more fiscally credible than Glenn Heran.
It just shows how desperate Glenn Heran who is neither a city of Vero Beach resident nor a Vero electric company user is. I am wondering what FPL thinks of their antics of their representatives. Is bullying and intimidation one of their approved negotiation tactics? At the next city council meeting FPL better be ready to answer some very hard questioning about their representatives misrepresentation of figures they have never denounced and tactics used by their representatives.
Jay Kramer’s view on the reality that the citizens of the City of Vero Beach are treated like second class citizens is a correct one. Thei needs of residents of Vero Beach are at least being recognized. Sadly, it is the County residents who are treated as third class citizens. There is rare discussion of the financial impact on county ratepayers that are routinely ignored — although I suspect that they would be considered if they just refused to send their checks to Vero Beach utilities.
County ratepayers ignored really? The County people have been in control of this since Charlie Wilson got elected nearly 5 years ago, its is the County who has gotten everything they wanted on this issue. Remember Patricia, I was the one who encourage the County residents to leave the system four years ago and FPL didnt want to entertain that idea. The Shores are looking at that possibility now which I would fully support. What I dont support is the County people coming in and lobbying the Council to throw Vero Beach under the bus for their benefit. They wont see a degradation in service, they wont see the tax increase, they just get the benefits without the pain. I fully support the County residence that want to take the responsibility of taking on their portion of the system and doing whatever they want with it. I have suggested time and time again solutions that end this discrepancy, why has it been routinely ignored, what is the real agenda?
The county users do realize that they are not owners of Vero Electric, but customers. They have this weird take on the electric system that we should not do what is good for the city of Vero Beach owners of Vero Electric or for Vero Electric the entity, but we should only do what is good for the county users. This is truly bizzar thinking. Do they really think they can persuade FPL to loose money selling them electric just because they do not like what they are paying?
