Harvest Day collections slated for April 12

Harvest Food OutreachHarvest Food & Outreach Center’s board of directors are hosting Harvest Day neighborhood collections on April 12, from 9 a.m. to noon. Volunteers will be collecting backpacks, children’s books, art and school supplies and healthy non-perishable snack and lunch items for Harvest’s Lunch & Learn Children’s Summer Enrichment Program.

South beach residents are encouraged to drop donations at Seagrove East and Seagrove West entrances (near guard houses) and Moorings Club Tennis Center. Other sites include the clubhouses at Grand Harbor Club and Woodbridge for residents of those communities.

The Lunch and Learn program is designed in partnership with Feed the Lambs for children at risk for food insecurity and learning loss during the summer when they are out of school. Offered 5 days a week from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm, the program curriculum includes art projects, physical exercise, and nutrition, reading tutoring and interactive presentations. Participants receive a free tutoring, lunch and snack daily.
