The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office Multi-Agency Criminal Enforcement (M.A.C.E.) Unit executed a search warrant yesterday in the 400 block of 7th Place. During the search, detectives discovered an active methamphetamine laboratory.
Agents from the Drug Enforcement Administration (D.E.A.) responded and assisted with the cleanup. Detectives seized an undetermined amount of methamphetamine oil, along with methamphetamine lab equipment including muriatic acid, Drano, acetone, household lye, pseudo ephedrine caplet, fuel, measuring cups, and more (please see the attached photos).
Jerry Shelley (AGE), Mark Bohannon (AGE), and Stefani Buzzell (AGE) all of Vero Beach, were arrested and charged with manufacturing methamphetamine. Shelley was also charged with possession of methamphetamine, while Bohannon faces additional charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and an outstanding warrant for petit theft.
Sheriff Deryl Loar stated, “Anytime we encounter methamphetamine labs, we are always worried about the safety of our men and women. Fortunately, with the help of the D.E.A., we were able to safely rid our community of this hazardous setup.”
