Please excuse me if I see more corporate welfare for Fortress, the private equity firm, that owns FEC and All Aboard. Check out internet for grant from Governor for Welcome center in Orlando for All Aboard. We can assume this estimated $217 million will benefit all of us in Vero Beach who pay fees and sales taxes to support more money to corporations like Disney. I hope the governor has learned to do “due diligence” on this project as he hasn’t in a stream of corporate gifts to many well deserving corporations. One in Miami was building for “Big Sugar Institute” and before the $500,000 + was given, the Miami Herald found out he was a convicted drug smuggler released in 2007 from prison. His Lt Governor resigned in disgrace as “lobbyist” for Veteran “non-profit” arcades. The list of this “pay to play” is enormous and is to lengthy to go into here. But we citizens don’t need to worry because Florida protects your rights, just not your pocketbooks.
