Indian River County, Sebastian Chambers issue notice on false solicitation

Editor’s Note:  The following notice alerting their members to a false solocitation was jointly released yesterday by the Indian River County Chamber of Commerce and the Sebastian River Area Chamber of Commerce.

One of our members brought to our attention that an email has been distributed to members of our Chamber regarding a Vero Beach and a Sebastian website and “city guide.” Please note in the email that it says the information about your business was obtained from our Chamber’s directory.

The Indian River County Chamber of Commerce and the Sebastian River Area Chamber of Commerce:

Have no knowledge of the person or business named on the email solicitation.

Have not given any written or verbal or emailed permission for anyone to copy or reproduce our directory information.

Has not provided any information about your business to any company now claiming to be placing this info on their “new” website.

No permissions or information has been provided by our directory publishers.

We have not and do not endorse, make any referrals, or recommendations to the company or person named in any solicitation email, or regular mail, that you may have received.

The Indian River County Chamber of Commerce and the Sebastian River Area Chamber of Commerce stand together and stand firm against solicitation which may represent itself as being connected in any fashion to either of our Chambers. We will always let our members know of legitimate Chamber vendors and/or solicitations.
