Former city councilman, Ken Daige, is now serving as chairman of the city’s high speed rail commission. Daige and his fellow commissioners have meet working since late January to identify the likely impacts All Aboard Florida’s proposed high speed rail service will have on Vero Beach.

In addition to previous concerns, should we also be concerned that additional freight trains (as a result of widening of the Panama Canal & deepening the east coast FL ports), will be transporting oil via these tracks? Recent derailments and/or explosions (some resulting in deaths in Canada and USA), are further scaring some of us.
