AlthoffRUBY HOWARD ALTHOFF, 96, of Vero Beach, FL passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at the VNA Hospice House. Mrs. Althoff was born February 9, 1918 in Germantown, OH. She and her late husband, Gene, lived in Germantown for 25 years, before moving to Dayton, OH. They retired to Sarasota in 1977 and moved to Vero Beach in 2006. Ruby enjoyed playing bridge and watching sports. She was a member of Christ by the Sea Methodist Church and resided at Harbor Chase Assisted Living.

She is survived by her four children, David (Kathie) Althoff of Vero Beach, Sally Althoff of Portland, OR, Sandra Althoff of Venice, Italy and Susan (Tom) Hughes of Cincinnati, OH; 2 grandchildren, Jeff (Valerie) Althoff of Beaufort, SC; Teresa (Darin) Strackbein of Carmel, IN; niece, Elaine (Ronald) Bowman of Lebanon, OH; 6 great grandchildren, Michael (Kasey) Althoff, Kelly and Blake Althoff, David, Morgan and Jessica Strackbein.

Memorial contributions may be made to the VNA Hospice Foundation, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960 or to the Salvation Army, 2655 5th Street SW, Vero Beach, FL 32962. Interment will be in Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys, OH. There will be a private memorial service for the family. OTIS WAYNE COLLER, 62, died April 29, 2014 at West Palm Hospital in West Palm Beach. He was born in Jasper County, South Carolina lived in West Palm Beach after growing up in Vero Beach. Wayne was a graduate of Vero Beach High School and was a US Navy veteran. He retired from Murray Logan Construction, West Palm Beach, FL as a heavy construction Forman.

Survivors include son, Dwayne Cooler of Titusville; daughter, Tara “Lori” Raymore (Fred) of Port St. Lucie; sisters, Janice E. Chesser of Sebastian, Candace E. Carter of Vero Beach and Trudy Hall of Charlestown, Indiana; four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by wife, Deborah Kersey Cooler; parents, Charles Otis and Dollie Mae Cooler; brother, Curtis Edward Cooler and sister, Joyce “Kay” Tillis.

Visitation will be held 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Friday, May 9, 2014 at Strunk Funeral Home, Sebastian. A Memorial service will follow at 7:00 PM. NobleEDNA M. NOBLE, 94, of Vero Beach, Florida, died Monday, April 28, 2014 at VNA Hospice House. She was born June 11, 1919 in Detroit, MI and had been a resident of Vero Beach for 35 years, coming from Mt. Clemens, MI. Mrs. Noble enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be dearly missed by her daughters, Kay A. Moran and Virginia (Thomas) Wolff; sister-in-law, Mary Wright; 9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, George E. Noble in 1973; son, John H. Noble; 2 brothers and a sister. At the request of the family, services and inurnment will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the VNA Hospice House, Vero Beach or to one’s local Humane Society.
