MARK SCHUMANN

If a picture is worth 1,000 words, editorial cartoons are arguably worth even more. Until cartoonist Dale Neseman had to stop drawing for Inside Vero in late February at the insistence of Scripps Treasure Coast Newspapers, cartoons were among our more popular features.
After a little more than two months of attempting to recruit a cartoonist, I received an email May 2 from Matt Bodkin, a New York based editorial cartoonist and a member of the American Association of Editorial Cartoonists. Bodkin has won awards for his work from the New York Press Association and the Press Club of Long Island. His cartoons appear weekly in The Long Island Business News, Anton Community Newspapers and Saturdays in Newsday.
Below are the first two cartoons Bodkin has drawn for Inside Vero. More of his work can be seen at www.mbodkin.com and ad Newsday.

This is great news! Love his first two cartoons!
Ditto!!!!! Heady & Wilson one is spot on!
This is indeed great news. Scripps should bow its head in shame for attempting censorship,
