  1. That was quick! Very good pictures. We were there but these pictures let us see it all better.

  2. Beautiful pictures…yet so sad that our ranks of Veterans are shrinking and the participation on Memorial Island diminishes as the years advance. This seems to be the trend with all Military Organizations, for who today are joining those ranks? As long as these Patriotic Services continue, we will continue to be reminded of the freedoms that were so dearly paid for by our Veterans. On another note: I was at Sebastian River View Park for their Memorial Day Services, A Monument was erected and dedicated to the Gulf War( Iraq and Afghanistan) Troops, with a group present representing those who served and fought in that conflict. There were over 2000 patriotic citizens in attendance, and the dual ceremony lasted an hour and 15 minutes. It was a pleasure to see Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, the Sebastian River High School Band, the Navy Jr. Rotc, Coast Guard, The Jewish War Veterans and The US Navy Armed Guard join with the ranks of Sebastian’s American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars to put on a beautiful Service. It started at 11AM and for some reason we had the comfort of a large dark cloud that shielded us comfortably from the sun. The Invocation and Benediction spoke of sacrifice and hope, of life and living together in a most beautiful country. What a beautiful day to be a Veteran, let’s keep these services going!
