Detectives have identified one victim of the fire that claimed two lives last week. Frederick Brubaker (41) of Vero Beach perished in the travel trailer fire that occurred in the 2600 block of 52nd Avenue. Brubaker’s family has been notified. The second subject has not been positively identified, but DNA samples have been submitted and are being processed through the Indian River State Crime Laboratory. When the second subject is positively identified, an update will be released. Detectives also await the results of the cause of the fire from the State Fire Marshall.
Today, detectives attended the autopsy of Dominique Dawson (27), who was fatally wounded yesterday in Gifford. The Medical Examiner determined that Dawson died of a gunshot wound as detectives suspected. Detectives continue to search for clues today that will lead them to Dawson’s killer.
