Earlier this year, a group headed by Charlie Wilson announced it would form a new chamber of commerce. The new business organization’s name, the Vero Beach Chamber of Commerce, appears to have caused more than a little confusion, for the community’s long-standing chamber, the Indian River County Chamber of Commerce, was itself once known as the Vero Beach Chamber of Commerce, and then as the Vero Beach/Indian River County Chamber of Commerce.
The confusion between the established chamber of commerce and the new one headed by Wilson seems to have been heightened by a solicitation mailing from the new chamber which included an “invoice” for dues. See: Invoices from new chamber said to be causing confusion and anger
More than one local business has acknowledged having joined the new chamber inadvertently, and at least one claimed to have been “defrauded” by the new chamber’s mailing.
For businesses wanting to check to see if they, too, may have inadvertently joined the new chamber, below is a list of the new group’s membership as presented on its website as of this morning, June 16. I complete list, including contact information, is available at: Vero Beach Chamber of Commerce Membership Directory

That’s some list! I find it hard to believe some of these would knowingly sign on with Charlie’s Chamber of Commerce. Panera’s? C.J. Cannon’s? Fresh Market? Mulligan’s? Reef Ocean? I sincerely hope this was a case of mistaken identity.
Ask Mr Roth from “Roth’s Interiors”. Charlie apparently gave Mr Roth a refund when this Chamber invoice confusion was printed in the “Letters to the Editor” in the local daily.
You can probably scratch his name from this list now.
