NEWS RELEASE

The skies are once again quiet in Vero Beach, and the excitement is over, but the weekend of May 10 and 11 will long be remembered. The 2014 Vero Beach Air Show was the biggest and best event ever on the Treasure Coast, thanks to generous sponsors, hundreds of volunteers, and the thousands of people who attended. The next show is already being planned for 2016.

According to Todd Howder, President of the Vero Beach Air Show, the event raised approximately $100,000 for four local charities:  the Exchange Clubs of Indian River, Treasure Coast, and Vero Beach and to the Veterans Council of Indian River County. The donations will enable these organizations to fund projects to help abused and neglected children and military veterans of Indian River County and the Treasure Coast.

The show also donated a free ticket for admission to the show to every child enrolled in kindergarten through fifth grades in the county.

The stars of the show, the Blue Angels, were joined by nine other nationally known award-winning air show acts, static displays, helicopter rides, multiple vendors, and a family fun area. Piper Aircraft was the Presenting Sponsor of the show and one of many contributing sponsors.

Vero Beach Air Show, Inc. is a 501(c)3 charitable organization. Its mission is to promote volunteerism, support the prevention of child abuse, honor men and women who are serving or have served in the armed forces, encourage military recruiting, provide wholesome affordable family entertainment and aviation education, and promote the city of Vero Beach, the Vero Beach Municipal Airport, and area businesses.
