Obituaries: July 11, 2014

HeidtPAUL HEIDT, 71, died peacefully with his family at his side after a courageous fight with cancer, July 9, 2014 at Sebastian River Medical Center in Sebastian. He was born in Flushing, New York and lived in Sebastian since 1987 coming from Calverton, NY. Paul was a US Army veteran and served during the Viet Nam era. He retired from the US Postal Service in January. He was a member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church, Sebastian, FL.

Survivors include wife Nancy E. Heidt of Sebastian, sons Christopher Heidt of Cary, North Carolina and Paul Daniel Heidt of San Antonio, Texas, brother Daniel Heidt of Las Vegas, Nevada, granddaughter Jennifer Heidt of Cary, North Carolina and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents William and Ethel Heidt and brother, William Heidt.

Visitation will be 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM Sunday, July 13, 2014 at Strunk Funeral Home, Sebastian, FL. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, July 14, 2014 at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, Sebastian, FL. Strunk Funeral Home (7/11/14)

 

JACQUELINE “JACKIE” OUELLETTE, 87, died July 10, 2014 at Sebastian River Medical Center in Sebastian. She was born in Frenchville, Maine and lived in Sebastian, coming from Newington, Connecticut in 1992. She was a member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church, Sebastian, FL.

Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Paul Armand Ouellette of Sebastian; daughters, Doreen Bolnick of Topsfield, Massachusetts and Diane Brooks of Deep River, Connecticut; son, Matthew Ouellette of East Haddam, Connecticut; 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Mark Ouellette.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 1, 2014 St. Sebastian Catholic Church with Father John Morrissey, celebrant. Strunk Funeral Home (7/11/14)

 

WisselJANE FLOYD WISSEL passed away peacefully in Vero Beach, FL on July 9, 2014, with her family by her side. She was 88 and had lived in Vero Beach since 1985. Born in Ether, NC to Walter Claude Floyd and Josephine Wallace Floyd, Jane was one of nine children. She attended Pheiffer College in Misenheimer, NC, but it was in Ether that she met her future husband Ernest Wissel, there on military maneuvers. In 1950, Jane and Ernest married and settled in Virginia. She was an office manager for a Washington, DC area developer. She raised her family in Alexandria, VA, where she had many friends and adventures.

Jane is survived by her daughter Jean, son Roy and daughter-in-law Tish, grandsons Jerry and Tim, sisters Catherine, Francis and Betty, and her two beloved dogs Sparky and Daisy. She was preceded in death by her husband Ernest, brothers Hoyt, WC and Jack, and sisters Mitchell and Virginia.

Jane had an especially wonderful personality, being kind, generous, encouraging and with a sense of humor that was unmatched. She always had a kind word and compliment for everyone she met. She enjoyed gardening, bridge and caring for her two precious dogs.
