ROGER CARHART NEACH,75, passed away unexpectedly July 10, 2014 at his home. He was the only child of Donald “Dobber” Fredrick and Bernice Carhart Neach. His claim to fame was that he was born in Cooperstown, NY, on March 25, 1939. His family moved to Vero Beach in 1956 and opened Dobber’s Men’s Wear. Roger owned and operated Dobber’s for 44-years until its closing in 2000. He attended Suffield Academy and graduated from Vero Beach High School, class of 1958.He was a much beloved husband, father and friend. Roger easily made friends and will be missed by many. As an avid fan of both the San Fransico Giants and New York Giants he never missed listening to or watching a game. In his lifetime, he was a member of Vero Beach Planning and Zoning Board, the Riverside Theater, Jaycees, Indian River Exchange Club, Riomar Bay Yacht Club and a 50-year member and past president of Vero Beach Country Club. He loved golf and had a hole-in-one at Bent Pine Country Club on the 13th Hole.
Roger is survived by his wife of 53 years, Patricia LaLime Neach; children, Jeffrey, Bethany Fretwell, Pamela Vocelle and Zander of Vero Beach and Paige Rhodes of Pelehatchie, MS; grandchildren, Quay, Summer and Derrick Neach, Trevor, Jacob and Tucker Fretwell, Hannah, Morgan and Tanner Rhodes; great-grandsons Jayden Ramsey and Brantley Fretwell. He is predeceased by his parents Dobber and Bernice; granddaughters Candice Neach, Paxton Rhodes and an infant grandson.
Services will be held at Calvary Chapel, 941-18th Street, Vero Beach, FL, on Thursday, July 17 at 10:00am. In lieu of flowers, please consider Dogs for Life of Indian River County, P.O.
