Last summer the Vero Beach Theatre Guild was proud to present Gilbert & Sullivan’s operetta The Pirates of Penzance. The show raised over $15,000 for the Guild’s Capital Campaign: Casting Our Future, which will be used to build a much needed three-story addition to the Guild’s facilities on San Juan Avenue to house dressing rooms, rehearsal space, costume and prop storage. July 17 – 27 the Guild will once again stage a Gilbert and Sullivan comic operetta, The Mikado, with proceeds to benefit the Capital Campaign.   The Mikado tells a tale of forbidden love…disguises…threatened beheadings… vengeance…and three little maids from school, all with Gilbert & Sullivan’s usual wry humor and playful poke at British society.
