Records requested of Shores Town Council, County

MARK SCHUMANN

In an effort to discover what outside advice or encouragement, if any, may have influenced the Indian River Shores Town Council’s decision to file what could become a highly divisive, multi-million dollar lawsuit against the City of Vero Beach, Inside Vero submitted the following public records request today to the Town of Indian River Shores.

A similar request was made today of Indian River County Commissioner Bob Solari, County Administrator Joe Baird and County Attorney Dylan Reingold.

If there have been any written communications between Indian River Shores staff or Council members and representatives of Florida Power & Light, local utility activists or other elected officials, and if there have been any telephone conversations for which phone logs are available, that information, according to Florida law, must be made available to the public upon request.

This story will be updated if and when documents are made available.

  1. forget about winning anything with FPL and or FPSC, they are all working with FPL who gets to do what they want when they want. I opted out of the smart meter because of the 1 independent study they should have done on the smart eter but instead the independent study was only done done on micrwaves and cells phones. I sent letters to FPSC and the ADA being I live on a fixed income and I’m disabled but FPSC put on there web site if you are disabled and don’;t like our decision sue us. I had to pay an opt out fee of $95.00 and $13.00 a month will be added to my FPL bill they claim so they can pay there meter readers, this means I go without some medications because of the extra $13.00 a month, FPL is not reggulated by anyone and many Floridians know this. Florida needs to being in another electric company to knock FPL out of Florida, they have done nothing for the homeowners of this state. If I had the money for an attorney I would sue them for the 13.00 a month charge

  2. Matter a fact everyone in Indian River county including the county commissioners should be fighting FPL for the charges on the opting out of the smart meter and the extra 13.00 a month especially for the disabled
