Scott Stradley, Vero Beach City Councilwoman Pilar Turner’s hired gun on the Utilities Commission, argued today that the City has no right to a 6 percent return on its electric utility operations. Stradley did not suggest, though, that Florida Power & Light has no right to a profit, or that the utility giant should not be paying its CEO $14 million a year. It makes about as much sense to have Stradley chairing the Utilities Commission as it does to send Turner to Orlando each month to represent the CIty before the Florida Municipal Power Agency. Though both Stradley and Turner deny they have it in for the City of Vero Beach, it is increasingly difficult to believe them.

Is it all that difficult to force the removal of Scott Stradley from the Utility Commission? Would a petition do the trick? Why keep putting up with a tooth ache when the alternative is to eliminate it?
It is all too obvious that Scott Stradley should not be chairman or even be part of the Utiltities Commission. Stradley is part of the Turner, Wilson ,Solari faction and one of their talking heads. He and they will say or do anything to sell to FPL even it it costs every ratepayer hugh amounts of Money. We all remember Turner’s attempt to have ratepayers pay $26,000,000 to get out of some contracts. It is a well known fact Solari, Turner and others want COVB to disappear from the map. His words and actions ,as part of the UT, leave no doubt where he stands. What is plain to see is Stradley is not his own man ,but rather a sycophant and not worthy to be part of the Utilities Commission.
