Supervisor of Elections begins mailing absentee ballots for Aug. 26 primary election

Indian River County voters should be on the lookout for their absentee ballot. On Tuesday, July 22nd the Supervisor of Elections Office sent their initial mailing of 10,342 ballots to domestic voters for the August 26th Primary Election.

Any registered voter is eligible to vote by absentee ballot. Voters may submit requests online at www.voteindianriver.com under the “Request Absentee Ballot” tab. Requests can also be made by calling the Supervisor of Elections Office at 772-226-3440. By law, absentee ballots cannot be forwarded and can only be delivered to the address on file with the Supervisor of Elections Office.

The deadline for voters to request an absentee ballot to be delivered by mail for this election is 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 20, 2014. After that date, voters can pick up their absentee ballot at the Supervisor of Elections Office, located at 4375 43rd Avenue, Vero Beach. On Election Day, voters must vote at their assigned voting precinct.

Voted absentee ballots must be returned to the Supervisor of Elections Office, by 7:00 p.m. on Election Day, August 26, 2014. Ballots can be dropped off or mailed back to the Supervisor of Elections Office in the official envelope provided. The voter’s signature is required on the outside of the ballot return envelope.
